The LED lighting has resulted in well-lit areas, providing the horses with the best possible environment and ensuring the employees have a good working environment.

LED lighting that is glare-free and flicker-free can ensure optimal illumination and a good environment for your horses.

Both horse stables and riding arenas have requirements for light distribution, making it important to have the right placement and the appropriate amount of lux.

For orientation lighting, where horses need to see each other and their surroundings, a minimum of 50 lux is recommended. The brightness for supervision lighting should be at least 100 lux, and in areas where work with the horses is performed, such as when the farrier visits, a minimum of 200 lux is recommended.

A stable is also a workplace, so good orientation lighting that illuminates all areas contributes to a safe and comfortable working environment.

The lighting should follow a circadian rhythm

Depending on the daily routines in different horse facilities such as riding schools, stud farms, racing stables, etc., it should be aimed for the lighting to follow a circadian rhythm that ensures the horses an adequate period of activity and rest.

As a starting point, the daylight period should not be shorter than eight hours, and the nighttime period should not be shorter than six hours.

Better instruction and welfare for both rider and horse with the right LED lighting

In the riding arena, it is also important to have good orientation lighting for both the horse and the rider.

Horses are sensitive and attentive animals, so it is crucial that all areas are well-lit to avoid glare or shadows that may unnecessarily frighten the horse. This also ensures a positive experience for the rider.
